Verkada Pricing: How It Works
Hardware, license terms, and installation: what goes into a Verkada quote and what moves the cost. HTS installs and supports Verkada across PA, NJ, and DE.
The short answer
Every Verkada device has two costs: the hardware, paid once, and a license, paid per device for a 1-, 3-, 5-, or 10-year term. Longer license terms generally cost less per year. The Command cloud platform, software updates, mobile apps, and the storage on the camera itself are covered by the license, so there is no NVR server to buy, power, or replace.
Every site is different. We'll put together a clear quote for you. Term length and site scope move the final number. Request a site quote. A camera count and a floor plan is enough to start.
What goes into a Verkada quote
A quote from us itemizes three things, so you can see what each part of the system costs:
- Hardware. Cameras, door controllers, readers, sensors, and the gateways or switches that connect them. Model and lens choice, indoor or outdoor housing, and onboard storage all change the hardware line.
- Licenses. Each device needs an active license to function, so the license is the real recurring cost of the system. Cameras, doors, intercoms, sensors, and alarm sites are licensed differently, and alarm licenses are per site rather than per device.
- Installation. Cabling, mounting, commissioning, and training. This depends on your building, so we price it from a survey instead of a flat rate.
License terms and add-ons
A Verkada device does not function without an active license. You choose a 1-, 3-, 5-, or 10-year term, and the longer terms spread the cost over more years. Add-ons such as extended cloud storage, cellular backup, and video-verified alarms are licensed on top of the base license.
Storage and retention options depend on the camera and license. We'll size it with you.
What moves the price up or down
- Retention. Longer retention can mean larger onboard storage or a cloud-storage add-on per camera.
- Term length. Longer license terms usually bring the annual cost down.
- Multisensors. One multisensor housing covers several camera positions and is licensed differently from several single cameras.
- Government requirements. Federal work can call for specific compliant models.
- Installation. Cable-run length, ceiling types, spare PoE ports on your switches, mounting surfaces, and the number of floors all change the install line. A single-story office with an open ceiling is a different job from a warehouse with 40-foot steel.
